Establishment of the Eyewear Business
In 1951, Mr. Prateep and Mr. Kamron Prajaktham founded a company together called "Namsilp Thai" and began their eyewear business in Bangkok.
Expansion into Lens Production
In 1962, they entered the lens manufacturing industry by establishing Thai Optical Industries, which later became the first company to produce plastic lenses in Thailand.
From a Small Eyewear Shop to a Major Distributor
In 1962, Namsilp Thai grew to become a major distributor in the eyewear industry in the country. They then began to distribute well-known international eyewear brands, as well as equipment and tools for the eyewear business.
The First Eyewear Chain Store in Thailand
In 1965, the "Better Vision" opened at the Ploenchit Arcade, becoming the first eyewear chain store in Thailand. Better Vision provides consultations and solutions for vision problems to enhance customers' quality of life. Its commitment to developing employees who care for customers' eyesight has made Better Vision stand out in the market, attracting many interested customers.
From a Family Business to a Global Exporter
In 1991, Thai Optical Industries expanded from being a domestic lens manufacturer to exporting glass lenses to countries in Asia, Australia, and Europe. Due to the increasing demand for plastic lenses in the market, the company opened a new factory to enhance its production capacity. In 2006, the company was listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand to raise funds for further growth.
70 Years: Over 100 Better Vision Branches
In 1980, Dr. Sawang Prajaktham took over the business after returning from abroad and helped expand Better Vision into several shopping malls in Bangkok. By 2005, Better Vision had expanded from Thailand to Singapore and Malaysia. Today, Better Vision operates over 100 branches in Thailand.
